1994 Fender USA Custom Shop 40th Anniversary StratCandy Apple Red Electric Guitar Made in USA Includes: Guitar, Tremolo Bar, Case Candy, Strap, Cable, COA ( Certificate Of Authenticity ) & Original Case I purchased this guitar from the owner of my local music store in Honolulu. He purchased this guitar brand new from the factory for himself. This is an extremely rare guitar because they only made 23 of them and this is #10. Handcrafted by Fender’s Custom Shop, this guitar is of very high quality and is in excellent plus condition. This guitar is essentially unplayed; the previous owner had kept it in his collection and I added it right to my collection also without playing it. I cannot see any nicks, dents or scratches. I do see a small blemish in the finish in the lower cut away (please see photos) The owner of the music store I bought this from took pictures prior to me purchasing. I have taken pictures of the pictures from when he opened up the guitar. He had also misplaced the original Certificate Of Authenticity, so he contacted Fender in 2014 and they issued him a new COA with the current date. The neck is stamped H. Gastelum, for Fender legend Herbie Gastelum. Herbie worked at Fender for 56 years, becoming a neck specialist known as the “King of Feel,” also eventually working in the Custom Shop. The maple neck has a gorgeous figuring with birdseye in the maple and there is a 40th Anniversary abalone inlay at the 12th fret. This guitar is set up for low action. The neck plate and bridge plate have beginning signs of corrosion. The body finish is in Candy Apple Red. All electronics check out. Serial # 10 of 23Nut width- 1 11/16th inchesWeight- 7lb 14oz Specs:-Alder Body in Candy Apple Red Finish-Figured Bird’s Eye Maple Neck-Soft “V” Profile-7.25” Fingerboard Radius-Abalone Inlays with a “40th Anniversary” Banner on the 12th Fret-Custom 50’s Pickups-Small Headstock with Spaghetti Logo-Vintage Style Truss Rod-Vintage Style Synchronized Tremolo System-Vintage Style Tuners-Vintage Style White Pearloid Pickguard and Backplate This 1994 40th Anniversary Fender Stratocaster was made by the Custom Shop and is #10 of only 23 ever made, which makes this guitar even more rare than the Diamond Dealer’s Edition (150 units). The guitar is in excellent plus condition and comes with its original hardshell tweed case and case candy as pictured. All hardware and feet are intact and working. A Fender Custom Shop instrument is crafted rather than built. And since 1987 the talented craftsmen at Fender’s Custom Shop in Corona, California, have been handcrafting guitars of immeasurable sound, style and quality for just such players. Only the most talented electric guitar luthiers, such as John Cruz and Greg Fessler, are selected to create these fine instruments. And the vast majority of each instrument is created in-house at the Custom Shop. Even the pickups are painstakingly handwound, using much of the same materials and equipment utilized in Fender’s early days. If you want a dead-on re-creation of a classic era guitar, or are on the lookout for a limited run with exotic tonewoods, the Fender Custom Shop will deliver.
