PRODUCT DETAILS The Dedlock Arms Inn was released and retired in 1994, the 3rd year of Department 56’s association with The Charles Dickens’ Heritage Foundation. Starting in 1992, one building was released per year and then retired at the end of that year making room for the next year’s edition. A portion of the proceeds from the original sale were donated to the Charles Dicken’s Heritage Foundation. This annual festival takes place in the historic downtown area and features a range of activities, such as street performers, musicians, and dancers dressed as characters from Dickens’ novels, including Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, and others. The late, Jeanne-Marie Dickens, the founder of the Charles Dickens Heritage Foundation, has been recognized for her social sensitivity, empathy, and positive thinking, earning her the Life Goes On! Award in Vienna, Austria. USE & CONDITION Dealer display item shown in a glass-enclosed cabinet. Not handled by potential customers, then stored in a climate-controlled, non-smoking stockroom.
