Dypro have taken over this product from Dylon but it is still the same product DYPRO Multi-Purpose Dye is suitable for Natural fabrics, Nylon,Lycra and is also suitable for dyeing buttons and feathers. This multi-purpose dye is ideal for dyeing costumes and props of all types . Dypro fixative is 250g Suitable fabrics: Cotton linenViscose Wool Silk NylonLycra® (elastane). NOT suitable for pure synthetics (except nylon), Polyester/Wool mixturesFabrics with special finishes. All garments should be washed separately as Multi-Purpose Dye is not colourfast . 5g of powder is sufficient to dye up to 250g/8 oz dry weight fabric. 10-16g of dye will treat up to 500g of fabric. You will need: 30g / 1oz of saltRubber glovesA saucepanHAND METHOD: See special instructions for wool. Wear rubber glovesWeigh, wash and rinse articles. Strip colour if necessary with DYLON pre-dyeFill vessel with sufficent hot water to cover article.Dissolve dye in 500ml/1 pint boiling water (see chart on container for relevant quantities) and add to vessel.Add60g/2oz of salt per 500g/1lb of fabric to the vessel and stir well ti dissolve.Immerse the damp article in the solution and bring to the simmer(95`C) maintain at simmer for 20minutes, stirring constantly.Rinse article until water runs clear. Dry away from direct heat and sunlight.Wash articles dyed with Multi-Purpose Dye separately. WOOL: Immerse the damp article and bring slowly to the simmer and turn off heat at onceDye for 10 minutes, stirring gentlyRemove article from vessel and allow to cool to romm temperature, before rinsing in lukewarm water until the water runs clear. ACCESSORIES:Suitable for all plastics including polyester Dissolve 5g of dye in 500ml/1 pint boiling waterAdd plastic components (up to 125g/4oz if it can be submerged in 500ml/1 pint of water)Dye for 10 minutes at the boil.Rinse as per fabricPlastic components should be regulary checked for distortion as they are dyed. The dyeing process should be stopped should the components start to distort. WASHING MACHINE METHOD:For fully automatic front-loading machines only. DO NOT dye wool or silk in the washing machine. DO NOT dye less than 500g/1lb of dry weight fabric or more than half the machines maximum wash load. DO NOT use economy or half load programmes. Weigh and wash the fabric and leave dampWearing rubber gloves, add required amount of dye (see chart on container for relevant quantites) to drum of washing machine (not soap dispenser)3. Add 60g/2oz of salt per 500g/1lb of fabric being dyed, covering the dye powderPlace damp unfolded fabric into machine, set and run the longest, hottest wash cycle, without pre-washRemove the fabric from the machine and dry away form direct sunlight and heatClean machine immediately by running the longest, hottest wash with one cup of bleachWash articles dyed with Multi-Purpose Dye seperately.
