Leblanc Vito Reso-Tone 3 DAZZLER clarinet in red, white and blue combination. This is a 4th of July concert special. A serial number search shows that the upper blue section (serial No. A90852) was made in 1972 and the white lower section (serial No. B76178) was made in 1976. This clarinet combination was overhauled with new pads and corks, and fully regulated, last year. HISTORY: Several years ago I purchased separately a red, a white and a blue Dazzler clarinets with the idea of putting together multi-color clarinets. I tried each of the sections from each clarinet to get the best-responding ones and this one was the one I was going to keep. I sold the other two multi-color Dazzlers last year. I had this remaining multi-color Dazzler overhauled with new pads and corks last year so everything is sealing perfectly. The original red Dazzler barrel is not very responsive so I tried about a dozen different barrels including Backun Moba and Fatboy barrels, Buffet Chadash barrels and then the delrin (hard plastic) Muncy barrel. The Muncy barrel is a direct copy of the original Robert Scott barrels and plays the best with this clarinet. The Muncy barrel sells new for $95. This Dazzler does not play like a Buffet R13 but it has excellent intonation and is nearly indestructible when adjusted correctly. I personally used this clarinet for 4th of July and Veterans Day concerts with local community bands. I simply just decided to sell it. This comes in a nearly new-condition Leblanc red-fabric case which I purchased separately to add character to the clarinet. If you do not want the Leblanc case and Muncy barrel, I will send this Dazzler in its original Vito case (pictured) and only the original red barrel. I would then give a $50 refund. NOTES on the bell and barrel marks. Most clarinets have a preferred barrel and bell position that gives the best response, and this is not necessarily with the logos lined up. The marks on these barrels are to be lined up with the thumb octave key and the mark on the bell is lined up with the long key rod on the front, as shown in the photos. From personal trial, this gives the best response on this clarinet in all four octaves. I used a drop of orange nail polish to make the marks. FYI – The very last picture shows the different color combinations of all three clarinets before I sold the other two. TERMS: U.S. sales only, no international sales.
