Leica Leicaflex SL2- Leica Vario Elmar 35-70mm Lens – Near Mint -Fully Working Body: Camera is in near mint condition with almost no scratches or imperfections in the body. All the mechanics are fully functioning. The light meter works completely and is accurate. The light meter indicators in the viewfinder work smoothly and turn on correctly when the film advance lever is pulled back, and move up and down as the shutter speed/aperture dials are moved. The shutter speed and aperture indicator in the bottom of the viewfinder also works. All shutter speeds work correctly, self timer working, loading mechanism is extremely easy and reliable, light seals don’t use foam and therefore don’t degrade over time. There are no light leaks. Overall, the camera body is in extremely good shape and looks almost new, considering it was manufactured in the 70s. Lens: Also included is a near mint condition Leica Vario-Elmar-R 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5 Zoom Lens. This lens was purchased used directly from the Leica store in Vienna. There is no dust, no scratches, no fungus, and no haze in the lens. The focus ring moves smoothly, and the aperture ring clicks nicely for each stop. The zoom is also smooth and clear. Includes the built in hood, which is slightly loose in the housing(as are almost all copies according to the Leica employee at the store). Also including the front lens cap. Overall, this is an amazing lens for this camera and a great starter kit or upgrade for anyone coming from lower quality SLRs. Overall: This camera is in amazing condition and will most likely stay that way for decades to come. There are no electronic parts besides the light meter, everything is mechanical and in great condition. If a Swiss tank manufacturer decided to build a camera, it would probably be close to this one. It feels amazing in the hand, and the sounds of the shutter and advance lever are the stuff of film photography ASMR dreams. The lens is amazing and opens up a lot of creativity with the variable focus, as well as unbeatable Leica quality. I hope it finds a good home.
