The decoration is awarded to all German Soldiers. Allied soldiers may also be awarded the badge. Any rank may be awarded and wear the badge. The decoration has three grades: Grades III = German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency in Gold (Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst in Gold). Grades II = German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency in Silver (Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst in Silber). Grades I = German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency in Bronze (Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst in Bronze). The badge displays the German eagle surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves.In the United States military the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency is one of the few approved foreign awards, and is one of the most sought after awards to achieve but authorization and manner of wear is based on that nation’s uniform regulations. To earn the award one must complete the following requirements: Evaluation Report: soldier evaluation report from Commanding Officer recognizing the Soldier’s physical and moral standards. The purpose of the evaluation is to show evidence that the Soldier is both physically and morally fit. First Aid Course: combat Life Saver (CLS) level 1 course or equivalent. German Sports test (all required): 100, 400 or 1000 meter timed sprint (time limit determined by age category), 3000 or 5000 meter timed run or 1000 meter timed swim (time and distance determined by age category), measured High jump or Long jump (measured height or distance determined by age category), 200 meter timed swim in which any stroke is authorized (time and distance determined by age category), measured Shot-put or Stone put (distance requirement determined by age category), Bench Press, or 100m timed swim. The shot-put weights 16 lbs for males and 8.9 lbs for females. 25 meter Marksmanship (one discipline needed in gold, below for 9 mm pistol): 5 shots at 3 targets (15 second time limit utilizing 3 different firing positions – prone, kneeling, and standing, 3/5 bronze ranking, 4/5 silver ranking, 5/5 gold ranking. Road March: 20K/25K/30K with at least 10 kg pack.The Bundeswehr Qualification Badge (German: Tätigkeitsabzeichen) identifies the basis of a proven training and specialization of the soldiers. All badges have been stored in a smoke and pet free home by the original owner who is veteran in his nineties. PHOTOS are an important part of the description.
