Two days after publication of Shepard’s cartoon a resolution put before Churchill’s constituents concluded “We… urge Mr Churchill to continue his work for National Unity and National Defence, believing that this will be the surest foundation for the lasting peace which is our deepest desire.”+ An important work by Shepard, forecasting a momentous change about to take place in Churchill’s career.
