The interface is user-friendly, smart in its simple design and the readouts are clear and accurate. Built tough to last, the detector is robust with its hard plastic housing and rubber casing to provide long-term durability and use, as well as protection against weather conditions. For convenience, it boasts a dual-sided LCD display that shows the elevation, grade sensitivity, audio and battery status. A built-in bubble level provides an extra measure of leveling accuracy, while the accuracy mode allows you to switch between ultra fine and very coarse. Both the volume and backlight to the liquid crystal display can be adjusted with the simple touch of a button. In addition to the on/off button, there is an automatic shut-off feature that will power down the device after about 10 minutes of being idle. The LD-8 laser detector comes complete with a compatible rod mounting bracket. Secure the receiver to the clamp with the ¼ thread screw and then clamp the receiver to a grade rod or wooden pole. The non-expanding bolt adjustment system easily adjusts with a screwing motion and ridged edges give extra friction to secure the clamp to the rod.
